Welcome / 5 minutes
Build a better handoff.
Leave with a workflow your team can try tomorrow. Bring one real task that currently gets stuck between people.
What we will leave with / 5 minutes
A small tool for clearer ownership.
We will map one handoff, draft its checklist, test it with a partner, and choose a next action.
- 01One clear starting condition.
- 02One owner and a definition of ready.
- 03One visible outcome and follow-up route.
01 / Map
Find where work gets stuck.
Choose one recent handoff. Draw its path from request to accepted outcome.
Your task / 10 minutes
In pairs, list the sender, receiver, missing context, and decision that stalled. Circle the single gap that matters most.
Done when: You can name a specific gap and the person who can resolve it.02 / Make
Draft a checklist people will use.
Turn the gap into a short agreement. Keep the checklist close to the work.
Your task / 15 minutes
Write four to six checks: trigger, context, owner, acceptance condition, outcome, and follow-up. Use the actual words your team uses.
Done when: A new receiver can tell whether the task is ready without asking the sender.03 / Try
Run the awkward scenario.
A checklist is useful when a realistic task puts pressure on it.
Your task / 10 minutes
Partner A sends a task using the checklist. Partner B tries to receive it with one missing detail. Swap roles and revise the checklist.
Done when: Both partners can explain what happens when a required detail is missing.Debrief / 10 minutes
What became easier to decide?
Discuss the part of the handoff that changed. Keep feedback tied to an observable action.
- 01Which missing detail caused the most friction?
- 02What is now easier for the receiver to verify?
- 03What should stay flexible rather than becoming a rule?
04 / Take away
Choose one next action.
Pick a small place to try the checklist before asking the whole team to adopt it.
Your task / 5 minutes
Name one upcoming handoff, one owner for the trial, and one observable signal that the checklist helped.
Done when: You have a trial owner, a specific handoff, and a time to review the result.Arrow keys to move · Home / End to jump · Use your browser’s print dialog for a PDF draft
